چکیده
Abstract Background The use of a topical anticholinergic medication, ipratropium bromide, and its ability to inhibit methacholine rhinitis-induced hypersecretion is emphasized. Ipratropium bromide appears be both safe effective in reducing this troublesome symptom. This study designed show the therapeutic effect local treatment on nasal mucosa patients with vasomotor rhinitis. Objective To assess rhinitis compared non-vasomotor (allergic) normal individuals, if there any down regulation muscarinic receptors or not. Patients methods prospective intervention was conducted Otorhinolaryngology Department, Faculty Medicine, Ain Shams University. 60 cases. All were divided into 3 groups: group (1) includes 20 diagnosed clinically non-allergic suggestive Study (2) as allergic (3) performing surgery for causes (as septoplasty rhinoplasty). Results Comparison between pre- post-SNOT questionnaire symptoms among showed that significant difference post-treatment SNOT symptoms; obstruction, runny nose, post-nasal drip, thick discharge Lack good night sleep. Among cases group, IHC (immunohistochemistry) findings considering Epithelium, Glands, arteries veins. 20% had grade epithelium before while after treatment, dropped 0%. discharge. rhinoplasty) epithelium, glands, arteries; however, no post-IHC veins grade. Also, symptoms. Conclusion Topical anticholinergics such spray are treating rhinorrhea Further controlled studies larger sample size longer follow-up needed confirm our results identify risk factors adverse events.
